Day of Review of Apportionments

Property owners should have received a letter in the mail with their total assessment and apportionment percentage assigned to their parcel. Eaton County and Ingham County will hold a Day of Review for property owners to review their assessment factors and estimated assessment amount. You are not required to attend the Day of Review.

  • Ingham County: April 1, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Lansing Charter Township Hall

  • Eaton County: April 4, 2025, from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Delta Township District Library

Comments on the apportionment of benefits may be submitted in writing or verbally at the Day of Review. You can also submit comments in writing before the Day of Review to the respective county's drain commissioner.

  • Ingham County Drain Commissioner's Office: 707 Buhl Ave, P.O. Box 220, Mason, MI 48854

  • Eaton County Drain Commissioner's Office: 1045 Independence Blvd, Charlotte, MI 48813

Comments can be submitted by email to info@bankdrain.org.

Answering Your Questions

How are apportionments determined?

Apportionments are based on specific factors that are applied to each property in the drainage district. The factors account for the unique characteristics of each parcel, including acreage runoff, detention, and tributary drains. Watch the March 25, 2025, webinar for an explanation of the factors.

When do I receive my drain assessment?

The drain assessment will appear as a line item on your winter tax bill beginning in 2025. The assessment is spread over 30 years and will include interest.
