August Construction Update
Construction on the Bank ICD began in July on a number of locations. We encourage you to check out the online interactive map of the drainage district which is continually updated with construction, detour and road closure information.
We will continue to provide regular construction updates to keep the community and property owners informed so please forward this email to your neighbors!
Abatement and Demolition
Demolition of the houses located at 1226 E. Thomas L. Parkway, 941 W. Thomas L. Parkway and 1012 E. Thomas L. Pkwy concluded. At the former school located at 4300 W. Saginaw Highway, crews are nearing completion of interior demolition, and abatement is now underway.
Stormwater Detention Ponds
Stormwater detention ponds help alleviate the load on the drain system during large storm events. They collect water and slowly release it to help minimize flooding. Excavation on the detention pond is ongoing. Trucks have been hauling nearly 50 loads of excavated dirt off-site daily.
Traffic alert: There is a single lane closure on W. Saginaw Hwy for westbound traffic between Clark and Robbins roads, Monday-Friday. There is no lane closure on Saturdays and Sundays.
Outlet Storm Sewer Replacement
Within the next couple of weeks, the 60" storm sewer pipe installation starting at the Grand River will commence. Currently, the storm sewer material is being delivered on-site (pictured right).
Utility impacts: Reminder that there will be periodic non-emergency water main shut-offs while crews place a temporary water main. Crews will provide impacted property owners with a minimum of two days' notice by going door-to-door. If no one answers, they will leave a Bank ICD doorhanger with additional information.
Neighborhood Storm Sewer Replacement
Crews started at the intersection of West Michigan Ave. and S. Dibble, installing over 700 feet of 66" storm sewer pipe. They are working their way south towards Otis Rd. The additional pipe will increase the drain's capacity to pass stormwater.
Traffic alert: S. Dibble Rd. is closed between W. Michigan Ave. and Otis Rd.
